Rosewood

With a very similar grain pattern to Walnut, a stained Rosewood piece can provide a luxe finish, without the price tag.

Tasmanian Oak

Unlike other Blonde timbers, Tasmanian Oak holds a very straight grain pattern, making it a great selection for shelving and elongated pieces.  This timber is initially pinkish in tone but will mellow in colour with age and sunlight exposure. Blackbutt

Eucalyptus pilularis

Blackbutt is a strong and durable timer, well known and commonly used in flooring and commercial applications. Many clients choose Blackbutt for their kitchen benchtops and shelving, as it retains great character and tone.  It is a heavy timber that can be tricky to work with due to movement in varying climates, so it is best to see recommendations from the Buywood team, prior to designing your future investment.

Spotted Gum is a popular selection for benchtops and display joinery due to its gorgeous grain pattern and silky brown hues.  It is however, a very heavy timber that can be tricky to work with due to movement in varying climates. It is best to speak with the Buywood team about application limitations before proceeding. When used appropriately, this timber offers a superb finish that gets better with age.

Jarrah

Eucalyptus marginata

Much like the soil of Western Australia, Jarrah carries various striking deep red tones and fiddleback figures, making it the ideal choice for one off furniture pieces. It’s also a workshop favourite and always offers a luxurious finish in every application. Sadly, the Jarrah mills are closing and this will become much harder to source. Good news, your investment can be expected to increase in value as this timber will soon become a rarity.
