Solid Timber Furniture at Buywood

A lot of love goes into the pieces of solid timber furniture created at Buywood, from the quality workmanship of our highly skilled craftsmen through to your input as a client commissioning a custom made piece. In this blog post we wanted to provide you with some insight into what differentiates the timber furniture made at Buywood from other furniture makers across Australia.

High Quality Solid Timber

Here at Buywood Furniture we use high quality, recycled solid timber from sustainable sources to create unique, timeless pieces of furniture. Once built, our timber pieces undergo an intensive sanding and polishing process by skilled polishers. As each piece of furniture is made to order at our Alderly workshop, any of our furniture designs can be custom made with the high quality timber of your choosing.

Custom Made Furniture

Our specialty at Buywood is creating custom made pieces to suit the exact needs of our clients. Members of our team enjoy meeting customers personally on a one-to-one basis to establish their requirements and ensure that the furniture they commission is a perfect fit for their home. Lee Kenny, owner of Buywood Furniture hand sketches all designs made by the Buywood team, and oversees each design from initial drawings to final polishing. If you have been involved in designing your piece of furniture, you will be invited to our Alderly workshop to check on its progress, and our experienced team will assist you with installing the piece in your home.

Four Generations Strong

Lee Kenny is a 4th generation furniture maker who works across all of the custom furniture created by the Buywood team. He prides himself on a traditional approach to furniture making, which slows down the production process and utilises traditional joinery techniques to create pieces that last a lifetime. In a time when the future of Australia’s manufacturing industry is uncertain, Buywood Furniture is proud to have been Australian made and Australian owned for four generations of craftsmen.
